We've Used Holafly in 33 Countries. Here's the Code and What We Actually Think
Spring 2026 travel sorted. Use Holafly code ADAMANDLINDS for 5% off destination eSIMs or 10% off Holafly Plans subscriptions, including the new Always On benefit.
We are writing this from a small apartment in Osaka, two blocks from the Yodo River, where the cherry blossoms are about a week from peak. Lily, Cora, and Harper are eating onigiri from the konbini downstairs. Lindsay is on a planning call with one of her Fora Travel clients. The Holafly eSIM on my phone is the same one activated in Rovaniemi at the end of January, then rolled into our Hong Kong week in February, and is now pulling 4G in Osaka without a hiccup. One eSIM, three countries, no SIM swaps.
That is what Holafly Plans actually looks like in practice. We have been traveling full-time with our three daughters since May 2022, across 33-plus countries and 220-plus days in Japan alone. Holafly has been our default eSIM through almost all of it. This is the guide we wish we had when we started: how the ADAMANDLINDS code works, what the Plans subscription tiers actually do, what Always On is, and which option makes sense for which kind of trip.
Code: ADAMANDLINDS
5% off destination eSIMs · 10% off Holafly Plans · ~30% off annual Plans
What Is the Holafly Code ADAMANDLINDS?
The code ADAMANDLINDS is our exclusive Holafly affiliate discount code. It gives 5% off any Holafly destination eSIM (single-country or regional) and 10% off Holafly Plans subscription tiers. It is not a one-time code. It does not expire after your first purchase. It works on top-ups. It stacks with the built-in savings on annual Holafly Plans subscriptions, bringing total savings to roughly 30% when combined. You enter it at checkout on holafly.com and the discount applies immediately.
For destination eSIMs, use this Holafly link. For the Holafly Plans subscription, use this Plans link. The code is the same on all of them: ADAMANDLINDS.
Why We Use Holafly
We did not start with Holafly. The first eighteen months of full-time travel we cycled through whatever was cheapest in each country: physical SIMs from airport kiosks, random eSIMs bought at 2am after delayed flights. It was always one of two failures. Either the SIM did not activate when we landed, or the data ran out halfway through something important. We have been stuck trying to navigate a Japanese train station with three tired kids and a dead data plan. It is not fun.
Holafly fixed both problems for us in Japan first, in March 2023. We bought a 30-day unlimited Japan plan, scanned the QR code at Narita, and the data was live before we hit baggage claim. We have used it on every Japan trip since. We have used the Europe regional plan across Spain, France, Italy, Germany, the UK, Iceland, Denmark, Poland, and Finland. We used it in Lapland in January 2026 for our reindeer sleigh rides through the forest outside Rovaniemi. We have used it in Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Hong Kong.
That is the personal experience this post is built on. It is what we actually do, not what Holafly's website says we should do.
How to Apply the ADAMANDLINDS Code
This is the entire flow. We have done it dozens of times. It takes about three minutes.
- Go to holafly.com using our link.
- Pick your destination or pick Holafly Plans for a subscription.
- Choose your plan length and click through to checkout.
- In the cart, find the Promo Code field. Type
ADAMANDLINDSexactly as written. Click apply. - The discount appears immediately before you pay.
- Pay with card or PayPal. The QR code arrives by email within a few minutes.
- Scan the QR code in your phone's settings to install the eSIM. Do not activate data roaming yet.
- When you land, turn on data roaming for the Holafly line. It activates and the timer starts.
Two things that catch people out. First: install the QR code at home before the trip. Airport Wi-Fi is often too weak to download the eSIM profile cleanly. Second: the timer starts when you switch on data roaming, not when you bought the plan. So you can buy a 14-day Japan plan two weeks before departure and it will not start ticking until you arrive.
Destination eSIMs vs. Holafly Plans: Which Should You Buy?
Holafly sells two distinct product categories and knowing which one to buy matters because they price very differently.
| Product | Best For | Coverage | Discount |
|---|---|---|---|
| Destination eSIM (single country) | One trip, one country | 190+ countries | 5% off |
| Destination eSIM (regional) | One trip, multi-country region | 190+ countries | 5% off |
| Plans Light | Moderate travelers, 25GB/month | 160+ destinations | 10% off monthly, ~30% annual |
| Plans Unlimited | Heavy travelers, families, nomads | 160+ destinations | 10% off monthly, ~30% annual |
Destination eSIMs are one-and-done. You buy a Japan 14-day unlimited plan, scan it, use it, and that is the end of it. Best for a single-country trip of under a month. Holafly Plans is a monthly subscription: one eSIM stays installed on your phone and switches networks automatically as you cross borders, for a flat monthly fee. If you are bouncing through three countries in a month, Plans wins on both math and convenience. We use Plans Unlimited.
Holafly Plans Pricing With ADAMANDLINDS
| Light (25GB/month) | Unlimited | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly rate | $49.90 | $64.90 |
| Annual rate (22% off) | ~$38.91/month | ~$50.58/month |
| With ADAMANDLINDS (extra 10%) | ~$35.02/month | ~$45.52/month |
| Annual total | ~$420/year | ~$546/year |
The crossover point between destination eSIMs and Plans sits somewhere around month two of continuous travel. If you travel a few weeks per year, destination eSIMs will always be cheaper. If you travel more than two months per year across multiple countries, Plans Unlimited with the annual discount and code is likely the cheapest international data you will find anywhere.
What Is Holafly Always On?
Always On is a free benefit that comes automatically with any Holafly Plans subscription activated on or after November 4, 2025. It is not something you buy separately. Once subscribed, it gives you 1GB of data per month across 70-plus destinations that activates automatically the moment your primary plan ends. You also keep it after cancellation, as long as the eSIM stays installed and is used at least once every twelve months.
We have used it twice. Once when our annual auto-renew failed due to an expired card we had not updated, and once when we deliberately let a month lapse between trips. Both times the eSIM kept working enough to load Maps and check email. It is a genuine safety net, not a marketing checkbox.
Holafly in Japan: What We Have Actually Tested
Japan is where we have logged the most hours on Holafly, so this is the section with the most to say. We have been in Japan across multiple trips for 220-plus cumulative days. Tokyo, Yokohama, Kawasaki, Hakone, Sumida, Asakusa, Ueno, Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ginza, Akihabara, Kichijoji, Nara, Osaka, Kyoto, Fukuoka, Shirakawa-go.
Coverage in cities is excellent without exception. Signal stays solid on the Shinkansen, including the long stretch between Osaka and Hiroshima where the train spends a lot of time in tunnels. The one place we noticed weaker signal was mountain villages, specifically Shirakawa-go in November 2023, which is consistent with Holafly's own guidance that coverage in mountains and remote areas can be unstable. For 99% of normal Japan travel it is a non-issue.
For cherry blossom season specifically, good data matters more than people realize. The famous parks get crowded fast and Google Maps becomes essential for finding the side-street entrance with a 10-minute queue versus the main gate with an hour wait. We used Holafly to find a quieter Shinjuku Gyoen entrance during cherry blossom season and to read translated menus in a tiny soba place in Kyoto where nobody spoke English. Without working data, neither of those moments happens.
Holafly in Europe: Lapland Through the Balkans
The Holafly Europe plan covers 40 countries, including the EU, UK, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and most of the Balkans. We have used it across Spain, France, Italy, Germany, the UK, Iceland, Denmark, Poland, and most recently Finland for our Lapland trip in January 2026.
The thing nobody tells you about Lapland is that the signal in actual reindeer-sleigh forest is patchy from any provider, not just Holafly. What Holafly handled well was everything else: airports, towns, hotel grounds, and road sections between them. Maps loaded cleanly in Rovaniemi proper. The plan also rolled into Sweden when we crossed for a day, with no manual switch and no additional purchase. That seamlessness is the whole reason a regional plan beats a single-country one.
Holafly in Southeast Asia: Thailand, Vietnam, and What's Next
We have used Holafly in Thailand across Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Krabi, and spent cumulative months in Vietnam across multiple Da Nang stays. Coverage in Bangkok and Chiang Mai was completely fine. Krabi was solid until we got out to the islands, where signal got patchy in the same way it does for any provider. That is a Thailand island problem, not a Holafly problem.
We head back to Da Nang on May 5 for roughly three months. We will be running Holafly Plans Unlimited the entire time and will update this section with fresh Vietnam coverage notes after we've had a few weeks on the ground.
Holafly China: One Important Note
If China is on your itinerary, read this carefully. The Holafly China eSIM does not include a built-in VPN. Older articles around the web (including some of ours) said it did. That is no longer accurate. You need to install a VPN before you enter China, because the App Store inside China will not let you download most VPN apps once you are on the ground. We use SafeShell VPN (code ADAMANDLINDS for a discount) and install it at home before any China trip.
Our full Holafly China eSIM guide covers the setup, what works, and the VPN situation in detail.
Which Destination Should Use Which Holafly Plan?
| Destination | Best Holafly Option | Code Discount | Our Experience |
|---|---|---|---|
| Japan | Japan eSIM or Plans | 5% / 10% off Plans | 220+ days, excellent |
| Europe (multi-country) | Plans Unlimited | 10% off / ~30% annual | 10+ countries, solid |
| Thailand / Vietnam / SEA | Regional SEA eSIM or Plans | 5% / 10% off Plans | Multiple trips, reliable in cities |
| USA | USA eSIM | 5% off | Used on stateside visits |
| China | China eSIM + VPN | 5% off | VPN required separately |
Is ADAMANDLINDS the Best Holafly Code Available?
Most Holafly creator codes give 5% off destination plans. That is the standard. ADAMANDLINDS matches that 5% on destinations. Where it differentiates is on Holafly Plans: the 10% monthly discount stacked with the annual plan's built-in 22% gets total savings to roughly 30%. That is the strongest publicly available deal on Holafly Plans we are aware of. If you find a verified code that beats ours, use it; we will not take it personally.

Shop Destination eSIMs → Shop Holafly Plans →Does the ADAMANDLINDS code work on all Holafly destinations?
Yes. The code applies to every destination plan, regional plan, top-up, and Holafly Plans subscription on the site. There are no excluded destinations. We have personally used it on Japan, Europe, USA, Thailand, China, and the Plans subscription.
Can I use the code more than once?
Yes. Unlike many promo codes that are one-time-use, ADAMANDLINDS works on every order you place. We have used it on well over a dozen separate purchases across four years of travel.
What is the difference between Holafly destination eSIMs and Holafly Plans?
Destination eSIMs are one-time purchases for a specific country or region for a set number of days. Holafly Plans is a monthly subscription that works across 160-plus destinations automatically, with no need to buy a new eSIM each trip. Plans becomes better value for anyone traveling more than two months per year across multiple countries.
What is Always On and do I get it automatically?
Always On is a free benefit included with all Holafly Plans subscriptions activated after November 4, 2025. It provides 1GB per month across 70-plus destinations at no cost, activating automatically when your primary plan ends. You do not buy it separately. It is part of the subscription and stays active even after cancellation as long as the eSIM is used at least once every 12 months.
Does Holafly work in Japan for cherry blossom season?
Yes. Holafly Japan eSIMs run on KDDI, one of Japan's three major carriers. We have used Holafly across 220-plus days in Japan and found coverage excellent in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Fukuoka, and most tourist areas. The signal stays solid on Shinkansen. Cherry blossom crowds make data more useful than usual for navigating around queues and finding quieter spots.
What is the cheapest way to get Holafly Plans?
Choose annual billing and apply ADAMANDLINDS at checkout. Annual billing is already 22% off the monthly rate. The code adds another 10%, bringing total savings to roughly 30% versus paying month-to-month.
Can I install the Holafly eSIM before I leave home?
Yes, and you should. Install the QR code at home before your trip. The eSIM does not activate and the timer does not start until you turn on data roaming in your destination. There is no downside to installing it early and a lot to lose by trying to do it on weak airport Wi-Fi after a long flight.
Does Holafly China include a VPN?
No. The Holafly China eSIM provides internet connectivity through China Mobile's network but does not include a built-in VPN. You must install a VPN app (such as SafeShell VPN with code ADAMANDLINDS) before entering China, as VPN services cannot be downloaded from inside the country.
